The first Gold Coast Speech Festival is the inaugural sharing of inspirational stories and gathering of innovative ideas through the power of speech. It is a charitable event aimed to engage the community into powerful conversations that stimulate ideas and inspire collective change.
It goes by the tagline “Powerful conversations, Stimulating ideas, Inspiring change.”
It will be an annual charitable event. This year, 100% of profit will benefit Able Australia, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and Australia Anti-Ice Campaign. This event is organised and run solely by volunteers.
Our aim is to promote public speaking as a dynamic platform to create a positive influence to individuals, to the community, and to the world. We believe that public speaking is an art that can be an influential tool to spread ideas capable of shaping the community and the world. Some of history’s most influential people, the likes of Theodore Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King have created positive change in the World using their eloquence and skill as orators.
The Gold Coast Speech Festival intends to showcase outstanding speeches from outstanding speakers from different backgrounds – from the academe, the business sector, the youth, and the community – to inspire and influence the audience to be better involved with the community, to be better citizens, and to be better human beings.
This year’s theme is ‘Above and Beyond’, which aims to inspire the community to go above and beyond expectations, and strive for excellence for the benefit of oneself and for the advancement of mankind.
